Her teaching is grounded yet playful, encouraging students to explore movements big and small, strong and subtle, as a way to energize and align the body, and to calm and focus the mind. She is inspired by a love of dance, music, sports, and a great appreciation for the beauty and rhythm of nature (especially the ocean!). Marissa hopes to help her students find peace in movement and in stillness, on and off the mat.

Marissa is trained in vinyasa flow through Mandala Yoga’s teacher training program, and teaches throughout the East End as well as for surf-yoga clinics and retreats. She thanks her many teachers, friends, and students who have inspired her yoga practice and teaching, and especially her mother for encouraging her to first set foot in a yoga studio.

Josie is excited about her lifelong journey of learning and finding stillness through yoga. She received her certification through Mandala Yoga under Jolie Parcher and Lauren Hanna; owner of Sonic Yoga in NYC. Josie received her Bachelors in Fine Arts in 2004 with an emphasis on psychology.

Jeannine came to Yoga during a period of hardship in her personal life. She took her first class at Mandala Yoga in Amagansett and was hooked by her second class. A gymnast during her childhood, Jeannine had yearned in adulthood to find the same fulfillment gymnastics had offered her body but was unable to find a realistic means of doing so out here on the East End. Then she discovered Yoga. Yoga asana spoke to her body and spirit in a way that no other physical activity had. As she continued her practice, she found that through asana, pranayama, chant, meditation and Yogic philosophy she had filled an emptiness within her. She wished to pass this gift along to others and so, along with her collaboration with Jenny Baker, “Sangha” was born.

Jeannine completed her teacher training at Mandala Yoga in Amagansett, led by Jolie Parcher of Mandala and Lauren Hanna of Sonic Yoga in NYC. Jeannine teaches Vinyasa Flow and incorporates all aspects of Yoga in her classes. She believes in teaching mindfulness of one’s body and Self through asana, breath work and meditation.

Jeannine trained under Kam Thye Chow with the Lotus Palm School of Montreal to receive her certification in Thai Yoga Bodywork. Please see the section Thai Yoga Bodywork on our website for further details.

Forever a student of Yoga and of life, Jeannine thanks all those who have inspired her on her journey.

Her classes are lively and fun but challenging, full of thought and philosophy. She encourages her students to find focus through their breath, to expand and play with their strengths and boundaries but to also find their own expression of self in their practice. The Anusara Principles of alignment are instructed and encouraged so to experience the deepest openings through safe body awareness.

Heather began practicing yoga while dealing with illness utilizing yoga therapeutics. In addition, she counted on yoga throughout her pregnancies and has a strong desire to share with others how yoga can transform the body and mind as well as inspire the soul. Heather is grateful to her teachers Lois Nesbit and John Seelye.
