Class Descriptions
Open Level Yoga
Recommended for strong beginners to intermediate students and those that have attended beginner/basic classes. Basic postures are refined and more challenging postures including inversions, backbends, arm balances are introduced. Begin to work with pranayama (breath control).
Intermediate
Recommended for intermediate to advanced students. Students will be encouraged to work deeply in challenging postures, linking breath with movement as well as exploring more advanced postures and deepening pranayama practice.
Gentle
This class is appropriate for all levels of practitioners, including first time students, prenatal and those working with injury. Here the student will be guided into different postures with a slow and rhythmic breath, paying careful attention to the joints and ligaments of the body. The usage of props will be incorporated in the class to help the student develop knowledge of proper alignment, helping them to acquire a strong foundation in order to progress ease-fully in their asana practice.
Ashtanga Blend
A vigorous practice combining elements of the traditional Ashtanga series, including sun salutations, standing and seated postures, and plenty of vinyasa to purify and strengthen the body.
Core Yoga:
A class who’s main focus is the abdominal muscles. A strong core is necessary for a healthy spine and beautiful posture. Extremely effective, you’re sure to feel the work you’ve done for a day or two afterwards.
Power Hour
An hour of intense strenghtening poses and fast flowing vinyasa sequences. Sweat, purify, detoxify. get ready for Saturday night!
Restorative
Extremely gentle, long held seated and supine poses. Use of bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps, the wall, our breath and meditation helps us to find deep comfort and relaxation at the beginning of our busy week.
Hot Yoga Flow
Hatha Yoga done in a moist, heated studio. The temperature is about 90 degrees. Please be well hydrated, in good physical health and have a working knowledge of basic asana. Bring water and a towel and perhaps a bathing suit for an invigorating dip in the Atlantic afterward!
